Hey guys. I figured I'd drop in for a bit and say hello and to let everyone know that I may go missing for a few days. I got a phone call last night from my brother, letting me know that our Granny left us.  This is one of the last pictures I have of her, taken roughly 2 years ago. This was her meeting her great-grandson for the first time. She was scared to hold him but I insisted getting a picture of her holding him, I knew it would be one of the last times I saw her (due to family reasons and her health). This fine lady was more of a mother to me than my own mom and was also my absolute best friend from my earliest childhood memories. Oh the stories I have with her! God I'm going to miss her. Not seeing her in the past couple of years has brought nothing but heartache to me but I feel it was what was best for the situation.  She was diagnosed several years ago with Alzheimer's/dementia and it had gotten to the point she no longer knew who I was. Well, it's finally Friday! I do hope that everyone has had an awesome week! Being a stay home mom, I'm not quite sure why I look forward to Friday though 👀, it's not like my work is ever done lol. I guess it's because twice a month, when the hubby gets home in the late evening hours of Friday, he's actually off for two consecutive days! That is unless the P.E.R.T. team gets activated, which seems to only happen on days that he's supposed to be off lol. So let's get this day started by having some fun!

Before getting this thing started, I want to apologize for having disappeared the last couple of days. I had a migraine take hold of me Monday that just would not let up. It eased off some yesterday but rather than logging in, I just sat back and chilled watching movies with Little Man. Now that that is out of the way, it's time for some fun! It's HUMP DAY! It's getting closer and closer to the weekend! Although a stay home mom's job is never done, I still look forward to the weekend!  So let's get to having some fun, you know the drill!

Life Is Fragile This has been quite a week for your wren my friends. We lost a dear family member and also a neighbour passed very suddenly. The one thing I remember most about the family member..a great uncle, was that every time he saw me, he would say 'That's your Mum standing there'. I used to find this odd as my Mum passed when I was only five and she was in her twenties and I am - well, quite elderly but still he would say I was her. I liked that. Perhaps I should have told him that I liked his sentiment and that I appreciated it - but I didn't. The problem is, we think we have plenty of time...to quote Budda. Well - that is correct....we do think like that and it is a problem because we don't! Never underestimate the fragility of life.  I know we often say to live life to the full...and I think I really try. I enjoy every moment of joy I can grasp and it doesn't have to be very much at all....a pot of tea in the chapel garden or village square on...

It's FRIDAYYYYY!!! We have made it through yet another week and it's finally Friday! I do hope everyone's week has been good. It's finally cooling off here a little bit which means less humidity (yaaay 🎉🎉🎉)! Oh I'm so glad it's cooling off! Can't wait to fire up a good ol' bonfire! Might have to hit the hubby up Sunday evening (his only day off this week) to take me for a ride on the back roads with the windows down and radio cranked like we used to do! So let's get to having some fun!!!

What makes you feel you are living your life to the full? What are the simple things in life which give you the most pleasure? For me, a pot of tea in our chapel gardens in summer is just heaven. I enjoy my kitties when they are sleeping beside me and my hobby - making miniatures when I am able to do something -  my hands shake a bit too much these days and my sight is not what it was but I can still manage a few things if they don't require a very steady hand. I think there is so much joy to be there for the taking if you look hard enough. Don't focus on what you can't do but focus on what you can!!    Enjoy your day my friends....whichever way you decide to spend it.....post some of your simple pleasures, life sayings and quotes, images, music or book recommendations.

I was fixin' to do the normal Friday thread when I glanced down at the date in the bottom right corner of my screen and I realized... It's Friday the 13th!!! So are you one of the superstitious types or is it just another day? For me personally, I've been having bad luck all week so I don't expect today to be any different lmao! Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a good start to their week! I haven't been able to get on due to Little Man being sick. He started running a fever Sunday night and when he's sick, the only place he'll sit is in my lap. No one else's lap will work lol! Figured I'd get up a little earlier this morning and get some computer time in although I have my fingers crossed that he gets up this morning with no fever! So, what's new?

Good morning/afternoon people! I hope everyone is doing well today! I figured it was time for a new chat thread so, here ya go! OH COOL! I just figured out you can drag and drop a meme or gif into the body of a post and it will add it! HA! (Take note authors!) Anyway, it's time to get this day started and what better way to start it than with some tunes? (Warning to those that don't like "bad" language, don't listen to this song.) Just a heads up to people in case I disappear for a few days, while I don't live on the coast I don't live very far from it (in North Carolina). We are literally on the line where winds shift from gusts of over 80 mph to gusts of 50 mph with a LOT of rain being called for along with a pretty significant storm surge, so strong possibility of flooding in the 2 towns I live closest to.  If I disappear though, it will most likely be due to losing power. It seems our power goes out every time a squirrel farts ...

Well, the channels are finally gone. It seems that they started disappearing throughout the day yesterday while I was away from the computer then after pulling my computer back in front of me and refreshing the screen, they went poof! While it sucks, at least we have this alternative to keep in touch and to have some fun! I hope everyone has had a great weekend! Mine went by way too fast since the hubby surprisingly had the entire weekend off. While today is a holiday here in the U.S., sadly the prison employees don't get the same holidays as most workers. So how was everyone's weekend? It may be a holiday today but of course my body doesn't give a flip so here I am, up bright and early on this Monday trying to get my caffeine fix lol.
