Good morning! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week! And for those that participate in Thanksgiving, I hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving with lots of love, laughter and good food! It's Hump Day! I hope everyone has been doing well! I have been sick as a dog for a week now, doing better but still not back to 100% yet. Gotta hurry up and get there though as I get to spend the day cooking tomorrow lol. It's funny how at one point a person and their brother can make an arrangement that Thanksgiving is done at their house and Christmas be done at the other, so no one person has to do ALL the cooking both times but... it is what it is. Happy Sunday everyone-- I'm just betting everyone is wondering "what's happening in Kentucky today?" This is what's happening in Kentucky today: These are NOT ladybugs. . . . I remember loving ladybugs.  I even had a rock as a kid that I painted as a ladybug. . . . What is happening in Kentucky is the invasion of the doppleganger ladybugs, the fake ladybugs, some kind of gawd-awful beetle that looks like a ladybug.   They are everywhere...... Even  Nick, my bug man, can't get rid of them. He says they'll be gone when it gets colder. He says they're everywhere. He says lots of things, he just doesn't say "OK, They're GONE...." I somehow don't think this is just a Kentucky thing. . .  Any fun bugs and pre-winter infestations in your neck of the woods?  I guess I should be grateful-- at least they aren't SPIDERS......  :-)

It's finally Friday and I don't know about you all but, I'm needing some laughs! I hope everyone has had a great weekend! While the 'technical' weekend might be over, most people have an extra day off due to Veterans Day. Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day, was first celebrated on November 11, 1919. It was the one year anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1926 Congress passed a resolution making it an annual observance. It then became a national holiday in 1938. In 1954, President Eisenhower changed the name from the original Armistice Day to Veterans Day to recognize veterans of both world wars and for the intentions to celebrate all military veterans, both living and dead, who have served our country. Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day though. It's Hump Day! I hope everyone is doing well.  Since it is getting later in the year and closer to the holidays, things here will be a lot more hit or miss from me and I'm not sure how much will be posted from here on out. I'm not going to shut the channel down but, I don't know what else can be done other than a thread here or there. We've added new authors but so far, our dear Rachel has been the only one to post. I asked one day last week and got zero responses as to what people would like to see more posted about with the exception of the no-go topics, so I'll ask again. Excluding politics and religion, what topics would people be interested in seeing here? Is there anyone that has a high interest in a specific topic that would like to be added as an author? When Kat set this channel up it was meant for an escape from the usual partisan politics found on other channels: A place to tell a joke, post a fun meme, a music video, to discuss non-political topics, a place to drop in and say HI. Traffic has been low on all the Disqus refugee channels, even the ones that are using a different platform, but here it has been especially low - we lost a lot of regulars when the old Disqus closed down. A while back I posted an OP about funny jokes, and someone posted "Trump" and had to be reminded that, that was a political jab. I posted an OP recently about a nurse adopting a man with autism so she could help him get a new heart, and someone posted about "Medicare for all" - again making the posting political. It's finally Friday! Who else is ready for this week to be over? 🤚 I think the great state of North Carolina decided to completely skip over fall this year. We went from a high of 80 yesterday to a predicted high today of 60! What in the world lol. Some areas, close to the mountains, were trick or treating and watching it snow!
