πŸŽ‡It's FRIDAY!!!πŸŽ‡ Good morning all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! Ours was of course busy, but nice! There were only two 'things' missing. It felt a bit empty with missing pops as well as missing "R" (Oldest Daughter's fiancΓ©). Had I known that the only reason he didn't come was his funds being low from having bought the engagement ring for Oldest Daughter, I'd have paid for him to come... but I didn't find out that that was the reason until it was too late to get tickets πŸ˜’. He'll be here for Christmas though then will finally be moving down in February I believe it is. Pops was 'here' though. I'm sure he was here in spirit and he was most definitely here in each one of our hearts. The hubby knew I had 'something' planned as far as a way to memorialize his dad but I don't think he expected what I did. Me and Middle Daughter finished up the Christmas stuff late Wednesday and had it all done bef...

Good morning everyone! I do hope that everyone has had a good week so far! Here we are at Hump-Day and Thanksgiving Eve! I'm sorry for the thread being later than normal, I actually slept in a bit this morning. I'll also be up and down throughout the day, gotta finish getting Christmas decorations up... yeah, I'm one of those that they 'normally' go up the first weekend in November but I'm running a bit later than normal. If it weren't for Oldest Daughter, I'm not sure they would have even been put up. She knows I've been in a 'slump' and that I didn't give a flip if they went up this year or not so she got everything down and put the tree up all on her own. Between being a lazy butt and the few times I've had the gumption to get something done, it seems like every time I make a move to finish things up, everything starts going crazy. Phone ringing off the hook, someone wanting to stop by, it's like something just doesn't wa...

SUNDAY!!

Image
SUNDAY!!! It's Sunday before Thanksgiving, so what is everyone getting ready for? I FINALLY finished my baking. 12 loaves of Pumpkin Bread and 3 Dozen Kolaches (fancy fruit and nut filled bread). The Kolaches take about 3 hours, since it's a dense bread (let it rise and punch it down 4 times in 3 different ways). I still have to make another batch of Cranberry Salad to take to little brother and his wife's house this year. Made and served the one for the post yesterday. We had a great turn out at the post and lots of food for our veterans and their families.  I haven't been going to the animal shelter as I've had a bout of Bronchitis and didn't want to take that into such confined spaces. Will be going back to the shelter after Thanksgiving, since I'm almost over this stuff and should no longer be contagious.  Let's all stop this week and take a moment to be thankful for something in our lives.   Good morning everyone! I do hope everyone is doing well and has had a good week! I'm sitting here, on what 'should' have been my last peaceful, quiet and kid free day for the week (thanks to school) listening to a 'speckled face' 4 year old barking. Little Man's face is 'speckled', rather heavily I might add, from so friggin' many busted capillaries caused by throwing up several times in the last 2 or 3 days (I've lost count). I was up changing his pillow, bedsheet and blankets at 12 last night πŸ˜–. The hubby was doing the same at roughly the same time the night before. He'd had a cough since the last time he was sick, it never fully went away (yay πŸ™„) but it had been a 'dry' cough. How wonderful is it that this week, it's turned into a 'wet' cough and you can hear that his sinuses are completely full but not draining... at least on the outside. Nope, they've decided to drain 'inwards' and as most kids, he doe...

Let's See About Pulling This Hump-Day on Out of the Ditch!!! 🚜 πŸͺ 🚜 11/17/2021 C_K

Ok...  you all know me enough to know that I cannot and will not allow myself to get bogged down in the mud to simply wallow around in it. Sometimes, the best way to get out of the mud is to simply snatch yourself out, damage be damned! So here I am. I'm not one to live in a fantasy world or pretend that things are ok when they aren't, so don't think that's what I'm trying to do. Just like that Jeep being yanked out is going to have to spend some time in the repair shop, so will I, my husband and the marriage. Neither one of us is willing to give up on the other so it goes without saying that we're not willing to give up on 'us' as a whole. I decided that I didn't want Oldest Daughter spending her hard earned money on me or MY marital issues, so I didn't leave the house for the weekend although I wanted to. It also wouldn't have been fair to Little Man since now that he's in Pre-K, the most he gets of "daddy" time is on the wee...

What is the Quantum vacum state?

Image
What is the Quantum vacum state? Quantum vacuum state is the quantum state with the lowest possible energy. Generally, it contains no physical particles. The QED vacuum of quantum electrodynamics was the first vacuum of quantum field theory to be developed. QED originated in the 1930s, and in the late 1940s and early 1950s it was reformulated by Feynman, Tomonaga, and Schwinger, who jointly received the Nobel prize for this work in 1965. If the quantum field theory can be accurately described through perturbation theory, then the pr operties of the vacuum are analogous to the properties of the ground state of a quantum mechanical harmonic oscillator, or more accurately, the ground state of a measurement problem. In this case the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of any field operator vanishes. For quantum field theories in which perturbation theory breaks down at low energies (for example, Quantum chromodynamics or the BCS theory of superconductivity) field operators may have non-vanishin...

What Should Have Been a Hump-Day Thread. Sorry. 11/10/2021 C_K

^^Accurate depiction of me mentally^^ Good morning all. I hope everyone had a good weekend and has had a good start to their week. Mine didn't end very well and hasn't gotten any better so I apologize for my lack of enthusiasm. I'm just not in a good headspace right now. I am going to go ahead and apologize too as I doubt there will be a Friday thread, Country_Kat's may go dormant for a while, I don't know. There's a good chance that I am going to take Oldest Daughter up on her offer of getting me a hotel room for a few nights so I can figure out what my options are (however limited) and what I want to do. If I do that, I won't be taking my laptop or cell so that I'm not tempted to distract myself from the decisions I have to make. I could very well be making a choice to end my marriage and to walk away from it all with literally nothing but my clothes.  I wouldn't be able to take my baby with me, my Little Man, because I already know that I wouldn...

ALL BY MYSELF

Haven't shown Kat much love lately nor posted a music theme thread for a while. Still another week to go before Geri comes home, and while I have thoroughly enjoying the bachelorhood again for a spell, it is getting kinda boring and lonesome. So lonesome songs have been going through my head. OR - You could post some upbeat music videos!!!

Good Morning Sunday

Image
Good morning Sunday! Hope everyone is having a good Sunday! Everyone got an extra hour last night.  So I woke up with my better half sick with what ever our house guests have had the last 2 days. He NEVER gets sick, so step-son went to get a test at our local Walgreens. For breakfast I'm making buttermilk biscuits, fried eggs, and bacon.  It's also better half's birthday today.  It's still in the 30's every morning, but supposed to warm up into the mid to upper 60's today. It's too early for cold weather here, so looks like another long winter in Arkansas. It's been really foggy the past several mornings, so I guess that means early winter. Hopefully we have a longer spring this next year. We only got about 2 weeks this year before temps went to triple digits.  Well, let's have a good day today everyone. Keep it light. CAM

Good morning everyone! I do hope everyone has had a good week! Mine has been an emotional rollercoaster, nothing new there though lol! 😜 We did find out that for sure, no problem on getting financed for purchasing my Mother in Law's home when it comes time. It would absolutely 100% mean 'crunch' time when it happens πŸ˜–. It 'could' also happen sooner than initially thought. She had said that she wanted to wait until she was fully retired (in 30 to 33 weeks) since she doesn't work far from there but yesterday, she came off as if it may happen sooner if she decides she's found a place she likes... so she's already actively looking. She had me laughing yesterday evening though when I was letting her know that yes, we could get approved since that was a question that was up in the air. She was telling me how she went to look at a 'cute' house and she liked it. Then a couple days after she had looked at it, she said it slapped her upside the face lo...

Good Hump-Day morning everyone! I do hope that everyone had a good weekend and has had a good start to their week! Little Man is back in school this week (yay!) so I have my quiet days back lol. I finally got my truck back from my brother's shop this weekend, not 'fixed' per se but I'd rather have it back not at 100% than let that trash of a girlfriend he has drive it. I'm one of those people that, even after Oldest Daughter has told me I could have as much as I want of something, I still ask her every single time before I touch it. It drives her crazy but it's a respect thing to me. For instance, she bought several 6 packs of the brand of Root Beer that I like and told me to drink whatever I wanted of them but I've only drank 2 of them (I think) and before I touched them I'd hit her up asking permission. It irritates the crap out of her but I think deep down she appreciates it because it shows that I respect her as an adult and what she buys with her ...
